As Lutherans, we believe God's Holy Spirit is given in the sacrament of Holy Baptism. In the waters of baptism God makes people members of the family of faith. For infants and children, parents and sponsors make certain promises for their child and specific promises of responsibility for the growth and nurture of their child in the life of faith.
At Desert Cross, we provide a preparatory class for parents who seek baptism. This class is open to members and non-members, adults and children. In preparation for baptism, we invite the parents, sponsors and/or family to spend time in a 30-60 minute baptismal class. At the class we will get to know one another, schedule the baptism and talk about baptism. The celebration of Holy Baptism follows at one of our regular worship services.
