Confirmation
7th & 8th Grade (Calendar of dates on right side of page)
Confirmation is the core of the Jr. High ministry. Classes for Grades 7 & 8 are held in both the fall and spring to assist in developing faith and knowledge within the students. Parent participation is a vital part of this ministry. Each week we have small group time, as well as a presentation time. We cover the Small Catechism and Bible over the two-year period. Confirmation is held at the church on Sunday afternoons from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
9th Grade
Students complete Confirmation during 9th grade with a year of SERVICE. Each confirmand is paired up with an adult mentor from Desert Cross and together they work on service projects, and a faith paper. They are then confirmed on Reformation Sunday of their 10th grade year.
Campfirmation
Camp will be July 1st - 6th (Sun - Fri), 2012. Additional information will be mailed or emailed to you before camp.
Lutheran Campfirmation of Arizona is a week-long summer camp held in the beautiful high desert near Prescott, AZ. Desert Cross encourages all of our Jr. High youth to attend this fun and powerful retreat. Many Arizona Lutheran Pastors and Youth Directors work throughout the year to build and then lead the programs for the week. Campfirmation has proven to be the most impacting week in the lives of our students. This is a "must do" activity. Youth from Desert Cross are welcome to attend as incoming 7th graders through their incoming 9th grade summers.
