Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16

What are you grateful for? My heart is filled with gratitude for Rose Lattes! I went to a coffee shop to read a book and enjoyed a delicious rose latte with heart sprinkles in honor of Valentine’s Day. I was grateful to enjoy some rare relaxation time listening to the coffee shop playlist as the palm trees swayed on a beautiful day. This lifted my spirits and gave me a gratitude filter for the rest of the week.

What kind of filter are you seeing the world through these days? How are you doing with the Gratitude Challenge I issued? Are you scanning the world each day and finding 3 things for which to be grateful? I truly believe if we commit to this for the next three weeks, it will change our outlook and our attitudes. If you’re not yet viewing the world through a gratitude filter, it’s never too late to start! Join me in singing to God with gratitude in your hearts!

Here are a few Desert Cross updates for which to be thankful:·

  • Spirit of Joy will begin worship at Desert Cross Gilbert on 2/27/22 at 8:00am. Desert Cross worship time moves to 9:30am beginning 2/20/22. ·
  • Our Chamber is looking for ways to welcome and partner with SOJ to join our gifts and strengths together. They have already invited SOJ to join us in collecting food for the Gilbert Food Drive! ·
  • I have been working hard with our new Dir. of Media Production, Joni Van Rossum, to bring improvements to our livestream, and we are thrilled with the results! We are reaching people all around the U.S. and the globe including the Middle East and Africa! Soon we will work on “capturing” our viewers to engage them more and having a chat. ·
  • We exceeded our goal with the 500 Hour Project with service submitted and an extra donor stepped forward for those hours to donate to World Hunger. We are grateful!·
  • Lent is almost here, and we are excited to embrace God’s grace with our theme of Full to the Brim with a devotional, Sunday worship, and Wednesday Holden Evening Prayer.

In gratitude to God, Pastor Andrea
