“…Refresh my heart in Christ.” Philemon 1:19

In September of 2014, Green Bay Packers Quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, had a message for anxious fans with a bad start to the season, "Five letters here just for everybody out there in Packer-land: R-E-L-A-X, Relax. We're going to be OK." His words went viral and helped reset and refocus the team and the fans.

We are at the one-year mark of the pandemic and not meeting in person. It has been one rugged year in most ways. We are worn, weary, and anxious for the end. We are getting closer, but we aren’t there yet. We have encountered much sadness and grief, challenges, change, uncertainty and frustration.

We need to R-E-F-R-E-S-H, Refresh. We’re going to be OK.

Lent is our time to Refresh. It is our time to reset and refocus. Dive into the Psalms with our devotional every day and pray. Listen to God’s word of grace and hope. Delve into our new Cross Playlists and reflect on the meaning of the cross as we journey toward Holy Week. Get a mid-week reset and refresh yourself on Wednesday evenings as we gather for Zoom worship listening and reflecting on loving God with all our hearts. Join us Sundays for our new livestream worship and refresh your soul with Holy Communion. Connect with the pastors and community on Monday’s Zoom Chat Pray as we refresh for the week ahead.

This Panda bear pic says “Refresh” to me. Pandas are my favorite animal, and they seem so relaxed and full of joy! See how he just plopped down in the path to chew on some refreshing bamboo? Just so, we need to take time to do the things that bring us joy and peace. It is Christ who brings true refreshment. He will Refresh our minds, Refresh our souls, and Refresh our hearts.

Thanks be to God! Pastor Andrea
